Subsurface Imaging, Inc.
Case Study
ARB Inc. needed X-ray inspection of approximately 64 areas within the five-story Los Angeles Technical College parking structure. ARB needed this inspection completed within 24 hours because the drilling crew would be arriving the next morning to complete the job. The structure provided parking for the college students, and it was only scheduled to be shut down during the holiday break. It would have been a logistical nightmare if the students returned from the break with nowhere to park. After the crew from Subsurface Imaging, Inc. arrived, the ARB project manager realized they had underestimated the number of areas they needed inspected; instead of the original 64 locations, there were actually 304 locations.
Challenge:
After realizing the number of inspection locations more than quadrupled, ARB Inc. was understandably concerned that they would have to push their deadline and completion date. However, Subsurface Imaging Inc. made a commitment that they would still turn over the jobsite within the original scheduled deadline of 24 hours.
Solution:
Subsurface Imaging, Inc. developed a jobsite action plan that outlined the needs of the client, provided a time frame, and identified additional equipment and personnel needed to efficiently complete the job within the scheduled 24-hour deadline.
Results:
Because Subsurface Imaging, Inc. developed and implemented a strong, efficient action plan, all 304 X-ray inspection locations were completed and the jobsite was turned over to ARB Inc. within the promised 24-hour deadline. This in turn enabled ARB Inc. to adhere to their original schedule without any additional work stoppage and allowed the parking structure to reopen in time for the returning students.
